Kolkata, November 16 (IANS). Indian team captain Shubhman Gill, who was admitted to a hospital in Kolkata since Saturday due to a neck problem, was discharged on Sunday. After being discharged from the hospital, the team returned to the hotel. Shubhman Gill was kept in the intensive care unit (ICU). Currently, Gill’s condition is stable and he is feeling better. He can walk and move his neck without any problems. Former captain of the Indian cricket team and president of the Cricket Association of Bengal (CAB), Sourav Ganguly, went to the hospital and met Shubman Gill. Ganguly stayed in the hospital for about 15 minutes. According to the information, Shubman will rest in the team hotel. The BCCI medical team will keep a constant watch on him. No official information has been given whether the Indian captain will play in the next Test starting from November 22 in Guwahati or not. Team India head coach Gautam Gambhir had earlier said that Shubman Gill’s neck injury is being assessed and the physio is expected to take a decision on his condition. Only after that the situation will be clear about his availability in the next test. Shubman had neck problems while batting during the first innings. After this he retired hurt. He was admitted to the hospital on Saturday. In Gill’s absence, wicketkeeper-batsman Rishabh Pant led the team.
