Chitrakoot: Recently around 25 people died in a fire in a night club in North Goa. In such a situation, there are many hotels and restaurants operating in Chitrakoot, which are still operating without any fire protection. If any incident happens in the future, they have no resources available for rescue. More than 150 hotels were operated in the district. About 150 hotels, guest houses and restaurants are operating in Chitrakoot district. But the most surprising thing is that only a few of these hotels have a No Objection Certificate (NOC) from the fire department. All other establishments are openly doing business worth lakhs of rupees without any safe exit, fire alarm, fire safety measures. Many hotels do not have fire safety, but according to the fire brigade, notices have been issued to many institutions such as hotels, guesthouses and restaurants. Even after this, the NOC action is not complete. According to the rules, fire audit must be carried out every three months. However, the reality is that the file is always closed after the audit report says everything is fine. There is no inspection, no testing of equipment, everything is shown safe only on paper, thereby further increasing the morale of hotel and restaurant operators. Even in Chitrakoot, no action has been taken against the establishments operating without NOC. SP gave information, Chitrakoot Superintendent of Police Arun Kumar Singh says that the CFO was posted in our fire department in the district a few months ago. Once he arrived, he inspected all the hotels, lodges, hospitals and restaurants of Chitrakoot and issued notice to all for the first phase. He says he will soon issue a notification for the second phase and disclose its list to the district magistrate. Even after this, these people will not work according to the fire safety standards. After this we and the district officer will decide how to implement it. The superintendent of police says that public safety is the most important thing for us.
