After the decision, there is an atmosphere of excitement in the surrounding areas, including Karbigahiya. Locals say that rejuvenating this historic structure, which has been neglected for years, will not only benefit the capital, but the entire state. Built in 1930, closed for decades, this power house was built in the year 1930 with the beginning of electricity generation in Patna. However, due to increase in population in areas like Karbigahiya, Jakkanpur, Kankarbagh, New Market and Chiriyatand and expansion of the city, its operation was stopped in the year 1934. After this, this powerhouse gradually turned into ruins and remained closed for more than 50 years. In the year 2019, a proposal was prepared to transform it into an energy museum, which has now received the approval of the Cabinet. Responsibility handed over to BSPHCL: PESU General Manager Dilip Singh said that the responsibility for building the Power Museum has been given to Bihar State Power Holding Corporation Limited (BSPHCL). A special civil wing has also been formed to ensure timely and smooth completion of the project. It is estimated that this energy museum will be ready in the next two to three years. There is a lot of enthusiasm among the youth. Local student Kriti Ranjan says during the tenure of Chief Minister Nitish Kumar, institutions like Patna Museum and Bihar Museum were built and now the Power Museum of Karbigahiya will be a big change for the capital. Terming it a matter of pride, Mithapur resident Monu Kumar said that it will be a unique opportunity to learn in the field of technology and energy. Suman Kumar of New Karbigahiya believes that this museum will give a new identity to the area and Bihar will emerge in a new form on the tourism map. Overall, this Power Museum will not only preserve the heritage of the past, but will also point the way to the energy and technology of the future.
