Kolkata, December 14 (IANS). West Bengal Governor CV Anand Bose will prepare a separate report on the management mistakes made during the event involving Argentine star footballer Lionel Messi at the Salt Lake Stadium in Kolkata on December 13. Along with this, he will also tell the state government what precautions should be taken while organizing the event. Governor CV Anand Bose reached the Salt Lake Stadium on Sunday to take stock of the situation after the chaos. The governor told journalists that he intends to prepare a separate report on the incident and give specific suggestions to the state government on the necessary measures to prevent such incidents in the future. While interacting with the media, the governor accused the state government of not taking adequate security measures for such a big event, despite earlier indications of possible crowd-related problems. The governor said there had been advance warnings about the large crowds that flocked to catch a glimpse of Messi, after which tight security arrangements had to be made. In order for the event to run smoothly, it was necessary to take precautions in advance. Along with this, the Governor emphasized the need for better planning and coordination among the officials associated with such high profile programmes. Meanwhile, members of the Judicial Committee appointed by Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee to review the incident also visited the Salt Lake Stadium on Sunday afternoon. This committee was entrusted with the task of investigating the circumstances that led to this disturbance. It is worth noting that the fans eagerly awaited Lionel Messi in the Salt Lake Stadium on Saturday. Many fans bought expensive tickets for this, but when Messi reached the stadium, he was surrounded by a crowd of VVIP people. A human cordon was formed around Messi due to politicians, police officers and VIPs. In such a situation the audience could not even see him. The fans were angry about this and vandalized the stadium. –IANS RSG Share this story Tags
