Late night, a massive fire broke out in a house in Brahmachari Gali, Gilwali Gate, Amritsar. The family was fast asleep at the time of the incident. The fire spread so quickly that there was chaos in the street. With the help of neighbors, small children were pulled out with great difficulty, thereby averting a major accident. According to the information received, the incident took place around 1 o’clock in the night. The family was sleeping and smoke was seen coming from the first floor of the house. People in the area made noise and woke up the family. After which the children sleeping in the other room were picked up and taken out safely. It was fortunate that if there had been any further delay there might have been loss of life as well as property. Fire engines extinguished the fire within three hours. Because the street was very narrow, the fire brigade had to face difficulties in reaching the place. It took a lot of effort to control the fire. After three hours of hard work, the fire was brought under control. In the preliminary investigation, it is said that the cause of the fire is short circuit. In the incident, many household items were burnt to ashes. However, it is a matter of relief that no one’s life was harmed.
