A number of people then helped to lift the body and stored it on a tarpaulin and white cloth. The incident was revealed when Zainuddin’s grave was demolished in Salama Village, Sabbang District, Lutra on Wednesday (10/12/2025). The head of Bakka Village, Jidil, said that Zainuddin’s body was dismembered and moved to make it easier for his family when they wanted to make the pilgrimage. “The son asked his family to move his father’s grave to the back of the house because it is far if you want to go on a pilgrimage. I did not see it directly, only those who came to the funeral said so (the body was still intact),” explained Jidil, as reported by detikSulsel, Thursday (12/11/2025). A number of relatives of the deceased were surprised when the body was taken out of the grave to be moved. The deceased’s younger brother, Syarifuddin, described the moment the body was transferred. “We were all shocked because it was still completely intact. So we called an ambulance to come and help carry the body. Strangely, all the wood used to cover the body in the grave was gone,” Syarifuddin told detikSulsel. Syarifuddin explained that his brother’s grave was demolished to be moved near his son’s house in Bakka Village, Sabbang District, Lutra. This decision was taken at the request of the deceased’s children. “Everything was at the request of the child. I was just surprised when it was dug up because there was a rich smell. At first I thought it was the only woman next to the smell, when I approached the woman, there was no smell, it was coming from inside the grave,” he said. Syarifuddin explained that his elder brother died in 1995 when he was about 40 years old. The son of the deceased wanted the body to be moved next to the grave of his mother, aka Zainuddin’s wife. “For it to take about 30 years (to be buried), we automatically thought it was the remains of the skeleton. So we just brought a sarong, we planned to keep the bones there,” Syarifuddin said. Read more here (idh/dhn)
