The victim lodged a complaint with the cyber crime police station. Police are investigating the matter and people have been advised not to open unknown links and APK files. Cyber fraudsters duped ₹5.81 lakh from a carpenter from Shahberi village in Greater Noida West. The victim got in touch with the fraudsters through a WhatsApp message. He was tricked by the APK file sent by fraudsters. The victim lodged a complaint with the cyber crime police station. Remove Advertisement Just Read The News Mustaqeem, a resident of Ajitpur village Bulandshahr Agouta, lives in Shahberi village of Greater Noida. He works at a furniture store in the furniture market of Shahberi. On August 29, he received a WhatsApp message. He opened it and read it, but didn’t pay much attention to his mobile phone. After about half an hour, he received six messages to withdraw money from his bank account. ₹5.81 lakh was deducted from his account. When he investigated, he found out that fraudsters had hacked his account by sending the APK file. Then he hacked his cell phone and withdrew the money. The victim filed a complaint at the NCRP portal and the cyber crime police station. Station House Officer Vijay Singh Rana said a case was registered based on the complaint of the victim. Information about bank accounts involved in the fraud is collected. The incident will soon be revealed. Do not open APK files. ADCP Cyber Security Shaivya Goyal said that any link or file received on your mobile should not be opened randomly. You have to find out about it first. If the link or file is APK, it should not be opened under any circumstances. Fraudsters also commit fraud by sending APK files in the name of wedding cards, vehicle challenges, etc.
