There is a possibility of death of 22 laborers from Assam in a gruesome road accident here. The incident reportedly took place on Monday evening when a truck full of laborers went out of control and fell into a deep ditch. A total of 23 laborers were in the vehicle which went to Arunachal in search of livelihood. The administration has so far recovered the bodies of 13 laborers from the trench, while the search for the remaining missing people is on. This accident was so terrible and the area is so remote that it took a long time for the world to know about it. Budheshwar Deep, a laborer who miraculously survived the accident, somehow reached the camp in an injured condition and informed about the tragedy. He said that the car skidded and fell straight into a deep ditch. Due to lack of network and the worker’s phone dropped, he could not contact anyone. All the laborers who died in mourning in Tinsukia were residents of Gelapukhuri tea garden in Tinsukia district of Assam. There was an uproar because of the death of so many people from the same village. The list of the dead includes names like Rahul Kumar, Sameer Deep, Pankaj Manki, Ajay Manki, Vijay Kumar, Abhay Bhumij and Rohit Manki. Currently, the police and local administration are trying to recover the remaining bodies by conducting a rescue operation. Arunachal Pradesh: Army has taken over. According to IANS report, the accident is believed to have happened on the night of December 8 near KM 40. This came to light late on the night of December 10 when a person reached Chipra GREF camp and alerted the authorities. According to initial information from the survivor of the accident, the vehicle skidded off the road and fell into an inaccessible forest ravine below. This place, which is about 12 km before Chaglagam, is in a remote area with very few connections. Until the survivors arrived, no local agency, contractor or civilian representative gave any information about the missing workers. Relief operations gained momentum after the discovery. On December 11, the Indian Army’s Spear Corps sent a rescue team with medical teams, GREF personnel, local police, NDRF members and the Additional Deputy Commissioner (ADC) from Heuliang. An officer said: ‘At around 11:55 am, after four hours of intensive search and rope descent, the truck was spotted about 200 meters further down the road near KM 40 in a place that was inaccessible due to dense trees and bushes and not visible from the helicopter or road.
