Perth, December 14 (IANS). Perth Scorchers started the Big Bash League (BBL) 2025-2026 with a win. In the very first match of the season played at the Perth Stadium, Scorchers beat Sydney Sixers by 5 wickets. The rain-affected match was reduced to 9 overs each. Sydney Sixers, who came to bat first after losing the toss, scored 113 runs after losing 5 wickets in 11 overs. The team had a disappointing start. Sixers lost the wicket of Daniel Hughes on the third ball of the match. Until then, the account had not even been opened.
