The salary of India’s Test and ODI captain Shubman Gill is set to increase. After promotion, his salary could be at par with that of Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli. According to India Today, when BCCI releases its next central contract list, Gill might be kept in the A+ category. The India vs South Africa T20 series ends on December 19. According to a report in India Today, BCCI’s Annual General Meeting (AGM) may be held on December 22 after the end of the T20 series. Gill’s promotion is expected to be discussed in this meeting. It may also be discussed in the meeting whether Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli should retain their places in the central contract list or not as now they are playing only in ODI format. Last year, only four players were included in the Grade A+ category of the central contract list: Virat Kohli, Rohit Sharma, Jasprit Bumrah and Ravindra Jadeja. Grade A+ players get an annual salary of ₹7 crore. Grade A players get an annual salary of ₹5 crore, while grade B players get ₹3 crore and grade C players get ₹1 crore annually. Shubman Gill is currently in Grade A, so he currently earns ₹5 crore per year. Gill is the captain of India’s Test and ODI teams and is also the vice-captain of the T20 team. Share this story Tags
