Preparations have intensified for the reconstruction of Minimum Value Register (MVR) to be done across the state. In the same sequence, the construction process of new MVR was also started in Under Registrar’s Office, Thakurganj. It is expected that the new MVR will be implemented by the end of December. Remove Advertisement Read Only News Sub Registration Officer Thakurganj Kumar Deenbandhu said that MVR was not revised after 2013 in rural areas and after 2016 in urban and peripheral areas. He said that the market value of land has increased manifold in this long period, making construction of new MVR the need of the hour. With the implementation of the new MVR, the real market value of the lands will be accurately assessed and revenue collection will also increase. Continuous progress is made towards the revenue target. Under Registrar’s Office, Thakurganj is also making his mark with his achievements. In the financial year 2024-2025, the office achieved a target of Rs 22.85 crore, against which 111 percent revenue was achieved and the office also received a citation. The initial target for the year 2025-2026 was set at Rs 25.13 crore, but in November 2025, the department increased it to Rs 28.08 crore. To achieve the new goal, many evolving methods are being scrutinized. The general public is also requested to mention the actual value on their documents so that any kind of dispute can be avoided in the future. Junior Registration Officer said that many documents registered in the wrong category were marked and sent to Assistant Registrar Inspector General (AIG) Purnia under Section 47A (3) of the Indian Stamp Act. A target for recovery of Rs 14 lakh has been set in the last two months. He said that the infrastructure of Thakurganj under Registrar’s office is fast taking a modern shape. Currently, the border wall construction is in the final stage. Renovations are underway to give the office an attractive and professional appearance. Facilities like baby care room, clean drinking water, sitting chair, public address system and counter system have been provided for women. Along with this, a three-level plantation plan was prepared in the entire courtyard.
