State Bureau, Patna. Bihar still remains in the first position in providing free medicine to patients admitted from OPD of government hospitals. The Department of Health gave this information on Tuesday. Referring to the report released by the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, the Health Department informed that in October last year Bihar itself bagged the first position with 79.34 points, leaving Rajasthan behind. Since then, Bihar has continuously remained in the first position. This state was second in providing free medicine. This year, once again in the month of October, Bihar won the title of first place in providing medicine to patients with 81.35 points, while Rajasthan is in second place with 77.77 points and Punjab in third place with 71.80 points. Let us tell you here that the department claims that to strengthen the supply of medicines and other medical supplies, 165 GPS-equipped medicine vehicles are currently being operated in the state. The aim of this entire scheme is to provide free medicine to the citizens of the state, so that no patient is deprived of treatment due to lack of medicine.
