Delhi: Yamunotsav will be divine and grand: Kapil Mishra

New Delhi, October 31 (IANS). Delhi Minister Kapil Mishra said that Yamunotsav, which will be organized at Vasudev Ghat of Yamuna, will be divine and grand. The saints of Yamunotri and Vrindavan will perform Jalabhishek of Yamuna with water brought from Yamunotri. Kapil Mishra said that the continuity and cleanliness of Yamuna is the priority of the Delhi government. This is being worked on at every level. After five years during Chhath festival, people of Purvanchal worshiped Chhathi Maiya on the banks of Yamuna. There was incredible enthusiasm among the people. Now Yamunotsav is organized in this context. The two-day program will deepen the connection of the people of Delhi with Yamuna. It will be organized on November 2 and 3 under the joint patronage of the culture department of the Delhi government and Yamuna Sansad. Yamuna Sansad convener Ravi Shankar Tiwari said that the spiritual aspect of Yamuna will be discussed on the first day. In this, for the first time in the country, Jalabhishek of Yamuna will finish the water of Yamunotri at 9 am. There will be Yamuna Katha and Aarti in the evening. According to Ravi Shankar Tiwari, scientific aspects of Yamuna will be discussed in the Yamuna conclave on the second day. In this five-session conclave, hydro-scientists working on rivers from across the country will participate along with concerned ministers from the Central and Delhi governments.
