Despite ban in 6 Muslim countries, worldwide collection of Dhurandhar crossed Rs 300 crore, don’t know why PAK got angry?

Ranveer Singh’s new spy thriller “Dhurandhar” is making headlines in India, but its international release has faced a major backlash, especially in the Middle East. According to reports, Ranveer Singh’s “Dhurandhar” has been banned in six Gulf countries, including Bahrain, Kuwait, Oman, Qatar, Saudi Arabia and the UAE. Consent for selection was not given in these six Gulf countries. The authorities there objected to the film’s alleged anti-Pakistan messages, thus banning it everywhere. This ban has reignited the old debate as to why Gulf countries see Indian films based on cross-border issues with such strict rules. According to reports, the makers have tried their best to release “Dhurandhar” in the Gulf theaters as it is a big market for Bollywood. “Dhurandhar” was banned in six Muslim countries, but the film was not approved everywhere. An industry source said the team was aware of this potential but the makers were still trying their best. According to the source, the film was banned in many countries just because it was considered against Pakistan. The team tried to find a solution by holding several meetings, but the result remained the same. This is not the first time this has happened. Even before that, many films were banned. Before ‘Dhurandhar’ these films were also banned in the Gulf countries. These films include ‘Fighter’, ‘Sky Force’, ‘The Diplomat’, ‘Article 370’, ‘Tiger 3’ and ‘The Kashmir Files’, all of which have been banned in many Gulf countries. ‘Fighter’ was removed the day after its release in the UAE. A modified version of the ‘Fighter’ was also sent to the UAE, but it also failed to gain approval. Such cases have repeatedly reminded Bollywood that films with political or sensitive themes are closely watched in the international market. More than 200 crores earned in just 7 days. Although this ban was a big blow to “Dhurandhar”, it had no impact on his earnings in India. The film received an overwhelming response at the domestic box office, with audiences continuing to receive positive word of mouth. The film crossed the net collection of Rs 200 crore in India in just one week. The film also did well abroad, earning around Rs 44.5 crores, excluding the Gulf market. Director Aditya Dhar returns with this film after a long hiatus. Earned 306.25 crores worldwide. His previous film was “Uri: The Surgical Strike”, which was released in 2019. There were rumors that “Dhurandhar” is based on the story of Major Mohit Sharma, but the director rejected these claims. The director says that the story is inspired by real life geopolitics and covert operations of RAW. Along with Ranveer Singh, film stars Sanjay Dutt, Akshaye Khanna, R. Madhavan and Arjun Rampal are also there. The film grossed approximately ₹306.25 crore worldwide.
