However, there are many misconceptions about this. Ministry of AYUSH, Government of India gives correct information about Ayurveda. Do you also believe that Ayurveda has slow effects or is it only limited to herbs? The Ministry of AYUSH explains some common myths related to Ayurveda and the truth behind it. By adopting Ayurveda properly, one can achieve balance and longevity in life. It is based on the balance of not only the body, but also the mind and spirit. It treats disease as well as prevents it and promotes general health. Experts say Ayurveda is said to work very slowly. It is a myth. This is a common misconception. Ayurveda works effectively and gives lasting benefits under correct diagnosis and supervision of a qualified doctor. Ayurveda focuses on addressing the root cause of the disease, so sometimes this can take time. The second myth is that Ayurveda is based only on herbs. On this, experts say that Ayurveda is not limited to herbal medicines only. Therapies like Panchakarma and meditation are also important parts of it. Ayurveda is only for chronic diseases, that too is a myth. Ayurveda focuses primarily on disease prevention and promotion of general health. It is also useful in diseases, seasonal ailments and daily health problems such as stress, insomnia, digestive disorders. Ayurveda can be used at every stage of life from childhood to old age.
