Shahjahanpur, November 16 (IANS). There was an encounter with the police late on Sunday night with a gang who were carrying out robbery in Shahjahanpur district of Uttar Pradesh. At this time, a miscreant was injured by a bullet. He was admitted to the Government Medical College. The police also arrested six other people from the same gang and are interrogating them. Sehrauma South Police Station and STF Lucknow have been conducting continuous raids to investigate the robbery. In this sequence, the police arrested two main accused on Friday evening – Ravi Mishra from Hardoi and Gopal alias Amendra from Shahjahanpur near Nagarpal Bridge village. Police recovered two pistols of 315 bore, two cartridges, Rs 25,000, documents and the scooter used in the incident from them. Both of them admitted during interrogation that they had committed the robbery that took place on November 6 near Sarori village along with their associates Ramkishun alias Bhallu, ND Ghazi, Abbas Ghazi, Chhote Yadav, Ramladait and an unknown accused. The gang did recce before carrying out this incident. After the robbery, the gang members divided the money among themselves. Some amount was spent, while the remaining amount was recovered by the police. Cases have been registered against the arrested accused Ravi Mishra and Gopal under many serious sections including murder, robbery, Gangster Act, Arms Act in Hardoi, Sitapur, Ghaziabad and Gautam Buddha Nagar. The police say this gang has been active for a long time and has committed crimes in many districts. The STF team led by STF Lucknow Sub-Inspector Ashok Kumar Gupta and the police team of Sehrauma South Police Station were involved in the action taken on the orders of SP Rajesh Dwivedi.
