Jagran Correspondent, Badaun. Under the strict policy adopted by Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath to protect the interests of farmers in the state, the fertilizer mafia is intensifying in the district. Two days ago, the CM gave instructions on black marketing of fertilizers. Since then, raids on shops in the district have continued. On Thursday also, under the leadership of District Agriculture Officer Manoj Rawat, raids were conducted in fertilizer shops in various areas including Ujhani, Muzaria, Jyoparwala, Bitroi, Kachla, Nankheda, Bhadraul. During the raid, a total of four fertilizer samples were collected for testing on suspicion of violation of rules. District Agriculture Officer Manoj Rawat said that two samples were taken from Khushhali Kisan Seva Kendra, Muzaria, one sample from Rajput Fertilizer Shop, Jyoparwala and one sample from Gupta Fertilizer Seed and Pesticide Shop, Palia Pukhta. All the samples have been sent to the laboratory, after the report of which further action will be taken. During the inspection, the owner of Durga Khad Bhandar located at Jyoparwala closed the shop and fled from the spot. If we take it seriously, the process of suspending the license of the seller concerned has been initiated. District Agriculture Officer Manoj Rawat explained that there is no shortage of fertilizers in the cooperative and private sector in the district. The department is fully alert to supply fertilizers to the farmers on time. He said so far in the 2025-26 financial year, 30 licenses have been canceled or suspended as part of enforcement action. Apart from this, cases have been filed against 7 sellers under the Pesticides Act 1968, while FIR has been filed against 9 people under Section 3/7 of the Essential Commodities Act in cases of irregularities in the distribution of fertilizers. He said that supply of high quality seeds, fertilizers and pesticides to the farmers is the top priority of the department and intensive inspection campaign will continue in the future as well. At present there is sufficient fertilizer available in the district.
