Hyderabad, October 31 (IANS). Telangana Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy on Friday launched the campaign for the by-election in the Jubilee Hills assembly constituency. During this he accused BRS and BJP of maintaining ‘Fevicol Bond’. He accused former chief minister and BRS president K. Chandrashekhar Rao (KCR), party working president KT Rama Rao (KTR) and union minister G. Kishan Reddy of spreading propaganda against the Jana government and obstructing the development of the state. Addressing a street meeting in Vengal Rao Nagar, he said that BJP leaders were maintaining secret relations with BRS. He said that BJP’s victory in eight Lok Sabha seats last year was proof of this. Chief Minister Revanth Reddy hit out at Union Minister Kishan Reddy for ‘obstructing’ the Musi project and the expansion of the Hyderabad Metro Rail. He asked whether Kishan Reddy and another Union minister, Bandi Sanjay Kumar, had brought any money for the state. The chief minister said, “They are shamelessly saying that they will bomb Jubilee Hills. BJP MPs are walking around in Jubilee Hills without asking money from PM Modi.” He said that after winning the by-elections, the Congress had started major development projects in Secunderabad Cantonment at a cost of Rs 4,000 crore. He appealed to the voters of Jubilee Hills to support Congress candidate Naveen Yadav. He said, “This is the time for constituency development, not for sentiments. There are ups and downs in politics. It will be a historic mistake if the Congress does not get a win in the by-elections.” The by-election in Jubilee Hills will be held on November 11. This by-election became necessary due to the demise of sitting BRS MLA Maganti Gopinath. The opposition party fielded his wife Maganti Sunita. BJP again gave a ticket to Lankala Deepak Reddy. The chief minister accused KTR of not taking care of Jubilee Hills during his 10-year tenure as municipal administration and urban development minister. Reacting to BRS’s allegations against the Congress candidate, the Chief Minister said, “The then rulers looted the state and never came to Jubilee Hills to resolve public grievances. People should decide for themselves who the miscreants are. BRS leaders promoted drug abuse and Naveen Yadav always stood by the poor of his area.” The chief minister also raised questions over the objection raised by the BJP over the inclusion of Congress leader Mohammad Azharuddin in his cabinet. The Chief Minister asked, “Why is the BJP so upset about Azharuddin getting a ministerial post?” He promised to take the responsibility for the development of Jubilee Hills after the by-elections with the support of Azharuddin and Naveen Yadav. –IANS SCH
