A fire broke out in a hotel in Ahmedabad on Friday afternoon. 35 people who were trapped in it were rescued. Officials said there were no casualties. Fire Station Officer Praveen Singh Solanki said the fire broke out around 3 pm in the Hotel Citizen Inn, located on the second floor of the Parihar Elegance commercial complex near Science City Road in Sola area. Firefighters rescued 35 people from the building by breaking windows and using ladders. Solanki said there were no casualties in the fire and the cause of the fire is being investigated. Preliminary information indicates that the fire broke out in the hotel’s pantry, where a refrigerator, gas stove and cylinder were kept. Hotel manager Anil Patel reportedly fled the scene after the fire. He is a resident of Rajasthan.
