Following the president’s order, the national police chief is deploying aid to isolated disaster areas in Sumatra

Jakarta – National Police Chief General Listyo Sigit Prabowo has deployed a number of personnel to assist in disaster management in Aceh, North Sumatra and West Sumatra. This deployment follows President Prabowo Subianto’s directive. “The ranks of the National Police are of course in accordance with the President’s instructions to follow up by providing assistance for this humanitarian operation. Delivery was made to areas cut off due to flash floods and landslides. “Then we also deployed our facilities and infrastructure, whether airplanes, then helicopters, ships to be able to help send logistics that the community needs, especially in areas that are cut off, in areas where routes cannot be entered, so we mobilized help by air,” he said. General Sigit said that all forces of the Regional Police and National Police Headquarters were mobilized to speed up disaster management. “Then we also provide assistance via sea routes so that we deploy all existing forces, both from the regional police and headquarters, to maximize our support for this operational activity,” he added. “And maybe we will also hold a humanitarian operation so that we can then maximize it in terms of personnel needs, related to support needs, assistance with equipment and infrastructure, logistics and personnel to be able to help in three regions, namely in Aceh, North Sumatra and West Sumatra,” he said.
