This was announced by State Agriculture Minister Shilpi Neha Tirkey. The above decision was taken considering the inclination and acceptance of the farmers towards the production of Madua in the town. A program to transfer incentive amount to the beneficiaries under Jharkhand Millets Mission was organized in the auditorium of Directorate of Animal Husbandry. Remove Advertisement Read Only News The minister transferred the incentive amount of Rs 15 crore 63 lakh 24 thousand 900 online through DBT to the bank accounts of 32 thousand 911 farmers of the state. In the year 2024-25, 18 thousand farmers have the benefit of incentive amount on the cultivation of coarse grains. Minister Shilpi Neha Tirkey has set the following target for Agriculture Department officials to give incentive amount to 60 thousand farmers for cultivation of coarse grains. Earlier, Madua was cultivated in 20 thousand hectares. Now it has increased to more than one lakh hectares. There is more profit in Madua cultivation compared to other crops. Like the Paddy Procurement Centre, Madua Procurement Center will be opened in these three districts. Agriculture Minister Shilpi Neha Tirkey said that like the Paddy Procurement Center, Madua Procurement Center is also being opened. The department has identified Gumla, Simdega and Khunti districts for this in the first phase. Madua will be sourced from farmers through 17 LAMP-PACK centers in these districts. The rate of Madua will be determined according to the market rate. Madua product will reach hospitals, schools and Anganwadi. Minister of Agriculture Shilpi Neha Tirkey said the aim of the department is not only to increase the production of Madua and to provide incentive money to the farmers, but the department also intends to prepare Madua products by setting up processing units in these areas. Madua products will be prepared according to the demand of the people in the market. There is a plan to deliver this product to hospitals, schools, Anganwadi centers. The aim of the department is to provide nutritious food from coarse grains to the children from the beginning. At one time coarse grains were considered the food of the poor, but now they have become a favorite food on the plate of every class. Action will be taken against officials for providing wrong data. Agriculture Minister Shilpi Neha Tirkey has advised the officials of the agriculture department working in the field to work honestly. He said that a complaint of providing wrong data has reached him, which is being investigated. If incorrect data is confirmed during the investigation, action will definitely be taken against the officer and employee concerned. On this occasion, Kishore Kumar Manjhi of Dumka and Vinod Kumar Munda of Budhmu shared the benefits of Madua cultivation among the farmers. Farmers including Agriculture Director Bhor Singh Yadav, Joint Director Vikas Kumar, Horticulture Department Joint Director Shashi Bhushan Aggarwal, departmental officers were present in the programme.
