Jakarta – Polda Metro Jaya is investigating an incident where a car ran over students and teachers at SDN Kalibaru 01 Pagi, Cilincing, North Jakarta. The police are still investigating the cause of the accident. “I was at the crime scene, OK. We will conduct a crime scene investigation. I will instruct the Traffic Directorate and Criminal Investigation Directorate, yes, to confirm the motive or incident that took place this morning at 06.39 WIB at SD Negeri 01 school,” Inspector General Asep told reporters after visiting the victim at the Koos/2121 District Hospital on Thursday. Bobi Subasri, Chief Commissioner of Cilincing Police, previously said the driver admitted that he stepped on the car’s gas pedal incorrectly when he wanted to brake. According to the driver, this caused the car to crash. “So the manager’s statement was that the school was upstairs, uphill. Well, by chance he wanted to deliver the food to the school. This is temporary information, not sure, temporary,” said Bobi. “He wanted to go up there, he wanted to brake, he said the brakes weren’t working, right, because he was afraid he would crash (backwards), he applied (the brakes).
