Jakarta – Minister of Villages and Disadvantaged Regions Development (Mendes PDT) Yandri Susanto today carried out a groundbreaking or laying of the first stone for the construction of the Red and White Village Cooperative (Kopdes) in Banyumulek Village, West Lombok Regency. Yandri is optimistic that the presence of the Red and White Kopdes in villages throughout Indonesia can become a new economic center at the village level and bring prosperity to village communities in Indonesia. “Bismillahirrahmanirrahim, the pioneer for the Red and White Village Cooperative in Banyumulek Village, Kediri District, West Lombok Regency, West Nusa Tenggara Province, we will start. God willing, the construction of an Indonesian-built village will be a success in West Lombok,” he said in a written statement, Friday (12/12/2025). Scroll TO CONTINUE CONTENT “We hope that with the laying of this first stone, the construction (Kopdes) will be successful, smooth and safe. So that this Kopdes will become the economic center of Banyumulek Village, and can bring prosperity to this village and its surroundings,” he added. The laying of the first stone for the construction of the Red and White Kopdes is a form of the government’s seriousness to accelerate the formation of Red and White Kopdes throughout Indonesia. The government targets at least 20,000 of the 82,000 Kopdes/kel to be built by 2025. With the presence of the Red and White Heads, it is also hoped that it can bring services closer to the community and meet the basic needs of people in the towns. After laying the first stone for the construction of the Red and White Kopdes in Banyumulek Village, Mendes Yandri and his entourage went to the West Lombok Regent’s office to give direction to Village Heads throughout West Lombok Regency regarding the national strategic program. Present on the agenda were Member of Commission IX DPR RI of the PAN faction Muazzim Akbar, Member of Commission V DPR RI Abdul Hadi, Regent of West Lombok Lalu Ahmad Zain and members of Forkopimda West Lombok regency. Apart from that, with Yandri were the Director General of Economic Development and Village Investment, Ministry of Villages PDT Tabrani and Head of the Information Development Agency of the Ministry of Villages PDT Mulyadin Malik.
