Jakarta – Riau Province is preparing to host the detikcom regional summit’s strategic forum. This event will bring together the central government, regional governments and business actors to formulate concrete steps to welcome 2026. With the grand theme ‘Earth Lancang Kuning welcomes 2026: Cooperation to build and protect the environment for progress’, this discussion highlights the importance of balance between the use of natural resources and environmental sustainability. This issue has become increasingly relevant considering the hydrometeorological disaster that hit neighboring areas in Sumatra at the end of last November. This series of agendas is scheduled to take place on Friday, December 19, 2025, from 14:00 WIB at the Ballroom of The Premiere Hotel Pekanbaru. About 200 participants, consisting of community leaders, business associations and investors, will attend the location. Detikcom Editor-in-Chief Alfito Deannova Gintings will act as moderator to lead the discussion which will feature comprehensive collaboration between the government, security and financial sectors. The Minister of Interior, Tito Karnavian, is scheduled to attend to discuss the synchronization of central and regional strategic policies. Tito will highlight effective governance as the main foundation for regional economic independence. From the host’s side, Plt. The governor of Riau, SF Hariyanto, will explain the provincial government’s concrete steps in optimizing regional potential. The main focus includes increasing local primary income (PAD) as well as strategies to protect the environment as a long-term asset. The commitment to maintaining a conducive investment climate and the enforcement of environmental laws will be discussed by the Riau Regional Police Chief (Kapolda), Inspector General. Pol. Herry Heryawan. The role of the police is seen as essential in ensuring security stability and monitoring environmental policies in the Riau region prone to forestry issues. To complement the macroeconomic perspective, Deputy Chairman of the Board of Commissioners of the Deposit Insurance Corporation (LPS), Farid Azhar Nasution, was also present on this panel. Farid will review the role of the banking and guarantee sector in supporting strong local economic growth.
