Jakarta – The Indonesian Ministry of Religion (Kemenag) will hold a joint Christmas celebration this year. Minister of Religion (Menag) Nasaruddin Umar said this is the first joint Christmas celebration held by the Ministry of Religion since Indonesia’s independence. This was conveyed by Nasaruddin when he attended and delivered a speech at the 2025 Tiberias Christmas event at the Gelora Bung Karno Main Stadium (SUGBK), Jakarta, Saturday (6/12/2025) evening. “Service of Religion, ladies and gentlemen, tomorrow, God willing, we will also celebrate Christmas together. For the first time since the Republic of Indonesia became independent, there is in the Ministry of Religion of the Republic of Indonesia a Ministry of Religion that celebrates Christmas together,” Nasaruddin said in his speech. He believes that the diversity that makes Indonesia a beautiful painting of God should not be damaged by disharmony. “We should not have any divisions, friends. Do not allow differences in religion or sect to make us different. A beautiful painting does not mean a golden frame if the painting is not beautiful. What is the meaning of a frame? What is important is that the painting is very beautiful,” he said. As is known, the Tiberias Indonesian Church is holding a Christmas celebration tonight at the Gelora Bung Karno Main Stadium (SUGBK), Senayan, Jakarta. The congregation was very enthusiastic about participating in the Christmas celebrations. Based on detikcom monitoring at the location, Saturday (6/12/2025), the Tiberias 2025 Christmas celebration started at 17.58 WIB. It seemed that the congregation in the main field of SUGBK spilled over to the stands. Some congregations even watched from outside SUGBK. The congregation outside the stadium watched the Christmas celebration via the large screen provided.
