Ranchi, November 26 (IANS). A massive blast on Wednesday afternoon caused chaos in the Doranda College campus in Ranchi. As soon as the sound of the explosion was heard in the back part of the college, panic spread among the students and teachers. The lucky thing was that there were no students or staff at the place where the explosion took place. As a result of this explosion, the glass in the bathroom door broke and scattered on the ground. After the incident, the college administration immediately swung into action. The principal immediately informed the Doranda police station about the incident. Doranda Police Station reached the spot and started investigation. Sensitive parts of the campus have been cordoned off. According to police officials, in the initial investigation, such remains were found at the site, which strengthens the possibility of the use of a land-made bomb. However, it is also being investigated whether any explosives were used for the blast or not. Forensic evidence was also collected for this. The college administration said that the incident is serious and a detailed investigation is being conducted. The principal said the footage from CCTV cameras installed on the campus is being carefully examined so that the person who carried out the blast can be identified. Along with this, the security arrangements of the college have been tightened and students have been appealed to remain alert. Police sources said the involvement of mischievous elements in the incident cannot be ruled out. Some suspects are identified and questioned. Officials said it was being clarified whether the purpose of the blast was to create an atmosphere of fear or there was some other intention behind it.
