Jakarta – Depok police arrested two debt collectors or eagle eyes (matel) who were operating on Jalan Juanda and went viral on social media. The two matels are BEK and DPK. “The two perpetrators have been arrested,” Head of Criminal Investigation Unit for the Depok Metro Police, Commissioner Made Oka, told journalists on Sunday (14/12/2025). They even damaged the car the victim was driving. “The offender also hit the victim and also kicked the car body until it was dented on several sides and the right-hand side mirror cracked,” he explained. Not only that, BEK and DPK confiscated the car’s STNK. At that time, local residents helped the victim. “Then the offender took the car keys and the victim’s vehicle registration was taken away by the offender, then the victim, assisted by local residents, managed to secure his vehicle even though it was currently damaged,” he said. He explained that the incident took place on Saturday (13/12) at 15.17 WIB. At that time, the victim was traveling from Jl. Raya Bogor in the direction of Jl. Margonda Raya was driving a red Mazda 2 car belonging to the victim’s friend. “In front of Pesona Square Mall, the victim was stopped by an unknown person who shouted at the victim and asked the victim to get out of the car,” he said.
