Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann shared his experiences of investment visits to Japan and South Korea and said that Punjab is an emerging industrial state in the world. He said the purpose of this visit is to promote investment and industrial development in the state, which will create more employment opportunities for the youth. This historic visit will help accelerate industrial development and give the necessary boost. Chief Minister Mann said that Ogawa Kazunori, Senior Managing Director of Japan Bank for International Cooperation (JBIC), expressed interest in exploring the possibility of industrial and clean energy projects in Punjab during a meeting. He said they agreed to continue technical discussions on potential financing opportunities by Japanese companies. Bhagwant Singh Mann further said that the bank also welcomed the invitation of Punjab Investment Summit and expressed its desire to participate in it. Bhagwant Mann, Chief Minister of the Progressive Punjab Investment Summit also informed that Tomonori Kai and Toru Nakane, CEO and EVP of Aisen Industry Company Limited, have shown strong interest in the potential of Punjab for future manufacturing or research and development opportunities. He said that Tanaka Hiroki and Suzuki Mari, global strategy manager and product planning group of Yamaha Motor Company Limited, openly discussed investment in electric vehicles, cooperation in research and development and efforts for skill development. Bhagwant Singh Mann said that he also welcomed the invitation to the Progressive Punjab Investment Summit 2026 and expressed interest in joining the investment friendly environment of Punjab. The chief minister said in a meeting with Honda Motor Company Limited, department managers Tatsuo Nakamura and Ito Kiyoshi talked about exploring the possibility of component manufacturing in Punjab by Indian partners. Bhagwant Singh Mann assured the company of full facilities and policy support and invited it to the Punjab Investment Summit 2026. Meeting with NEC Corporation in Japan The Chief Minister said that the Parliamentary Deputy Minister (Economy, Trade and Industry) Komori Taku has agreed to coordinate to connect Japanese companies with Invest Punjab. He said Jango Okai, Head of Technology Business Management Unit, Fujitsu Limited, has expressed interest in digital management solutions and assured that he will choose Mohali for future projects in India.
