New sales zones will be created at 25 locations in the capital Patna. Urban development and housing minister Nitin Naveen gave guidelines in this regard in a review meeting with officials of the Patna Municipal Corporation. For this, the task was assigned to identify 25 places in the urban area. Instructions were also given to purchase new vehicles for waste management and collection. In the review meeting, department secretary Sandeep Kumar R. Pudkalkatti, additional secretary Vijay Prakash Meena, Patna Municipal Corporation Commissioner Yashpal Meena, BUDCO MD Animesh Kumar Parashar and all senior officers of the corporation participated and presented the current status of various projects. The Minister first took information on sanitation system, solid waste management, cleaning of drains, drainage system and indicators related to cleanliness. He instructed the officials to make the cleaning system more scientific and time bound in view of the increasing population in the city. Officials have been given clear instructions that there should be no interruption in drinking water supply in any ward. Minister Nitin Naveen also reviewed the progress of the solid waste management project at Ram Chak Bairia. He instructed the officials that all phases of the project, including collection, transportation, processing and disposal, should be developed according to international standards. He also said that special attention should be given to plastic waste management, door-to-door collection system and segregation of waste, so that the burden on the processing units is reduced and efficiency is increased. Officers must visit the field, evaluate the work. The Minister instructed the team of Patna Municipal Corporation to conduct field inspection from time to time and evaluate the actual status of the works. The Minister heartily congratulated the city residents, all the officers, workers and cleanliness fighters of the Municipal Corporation for Patna getting a better position in cleanliness at the national level.
