After Huawei, Samsung officially announced its trifold device. The new device called Galaxy Z TriFold. The new phone comes as reports suggest rival Apple is working on its first foldable device which could launch as early as next year. Samsung says it worked on the hinge mechanism to meet the unique requirements of Galaxy Z TriFold. The Korean smartphone maker noted that it created two different sized hinges with a “dual rail structure that works in harmony” to create a smoother, more stable fold. The Galaxy Z TriFold has a 10 inch QXGA+ Dynamic AMOLED 2X display when unfolded with 120Hz refresh rate and 1600 nits of peak brightness. Meanwhile, the cover display is a 6.5-inch Full HD + Dynamic AMOLED 2X panel with 2,600 nits of peak brightness. Just like other members in its flagship lineup, the Galaxy Z TriFold is powered by Snapdragon 8 Elite processor with support for 16GB of RAM and 512/1TB of storage. On the optical front, the Galaxy Z TriFold comes with a 200MP primary shooter with OIS, a 12MP ultra-wide angle lens and a 10MP telephoto lens with 3x optical zoom. The device has a 10MP back and 10MP main shooter for selfies and video calls. The Galaxy Z TriFold comes with a 5,600 mAh battery with support for 45W wired charging and 15W wireless charging. With the supported charger, Samsung claims that the Z TriFold can go from 0 to 50% in just 30 minutes. The Galaxy Z TriFold runs on OneUI 8 based on Android 16 and promises 7 years of OS updates and security fixes, similar to its other flagships. The phone comes in the single Crafted Black color and features IP48 protection for water and dust resistance. Samsung Galaxy Z TriFold Price: The Galaxy Z TriFold is priced at 3,594,000 won (approximately ₹2,19,000) for the 512GB variant. The phone will go on sale in Korea from December 12, which will be followed by other markets including China, Taiwan, Singapore and the UAE
