Speeding Mercedes hits three people in Delhi’s Vasant Kunj, one dead
New Delhi, December 1 (IANS). a speeding Mercedes crushed a person and injured two others in a posh area of Delhi. The police gave this information on Sunday. The incident took place shortly after midnight at Ambience Mall in Vasant Kunj area, where a Mercedes car went out of control and hit a pillar and then hit three people waiting at the car stand. According to officials, the police reached the spot and took the three injured to the hospital. Rohit (23), a resident of Chamoli in Uttarakhand, was declared dead, while the other two, aged 35 and 23 respectively, are still undergoing treatment. Hemant Bisht, a relative of the deceased, said it was a Mercedes car and it was around 2 am in the night when the car crushed all three. The driver was drunk. Rohit could not escape. Police said that all three worked in a restaurant in Ambience Mall. Officials said the driver has been identified as 29-year-old Shivam, a resident of Karol Bagh. The police arrested him. He was in the car with his wife and older brother at the time of the accident. According to preliminary investigation, the vehicle lost its balance due to the turn, due to which the car first hit a pillar and then hit three mall employees. Police said Shivam and his family members were on their way home after attending a wedding function. This luxury car belongs to Shivam’s friend Abhishek. The incident comes exactly a month after two people were injured when they were hit by a Mercedes car in Delhi’s Rajouri Garden area on October 22.
