Wylde in the Workplace!

We are experts in workplace design, with over thirty years of experience. We have a wide portfolio of different project sizes and we have worked across most industries. In order to get the most out of your workspace, whether you’re reshaping your existing building or moving to a new one, we can help you analyse the ways in which you work and how you could work better.

We will help you devise an appropriate interior design strategy to inform the design process. We collect data on all aspects of the workplace through observation, audits, interviews, online questionnaires and workshops. We use this data to establish space requirements and ways of working best suited to your teams and your business. Ultimately the benefits should include, space efficiency, flexibility for future changes, accommodating growth and changes of head-count, improved communication and collaboration, a stronger brand, reduced running costs, attracting new talent, staff engagement, well being, improved morale and productivity.

Looking for ways to make the most of your weekend? Here are a few ideas to help you unwind and step into Monday feeling like the best version of yourself:

🌿 Get outside – A bit of fresh air can work wonders! Whether it’s a stroll in the park, a woodland wander, or just enjoying a cuppa in the garden, nature is a great mood booster.

We’re excited to share our visual sketches for this Bristol-based sporting company’s design scheme not only capture the aesthetic elegance of the space but also serve as a vital tool in refining the project’s functionality!

The conference room, with its sleek timber slats, acoustic rafts, and carefully curated glass manifestations, balances style with acoustic efficiency, ensuring a dynamic yet focused environment for discussions. The interplay of slate greys and blues lends a contemporary sophistication, while the sage green breakout space provides a refreshing retreat, reinforcing the importance of both productivity and well-being within the workplace.

These sketches also highlight how design choices enhance usability across different areas. The first-floor soft seating area in chic blue tones offers a comfortable, informal setting for collaboration, while the continuity of timber slats through the small meeting room and open-plan office ensures a cohesive, well-considered aesthetic. The inclusion of study booths within the workspace demonstrates a sensitivity to varying work styles, offering both openness and privacy where needed.

By translating all of these elements into detailed sketches, the design vision is brought to life, allowing for refinement and alignment with the client’s needs before physical implementation… Exciting!!

We’ve recently revisited Turner & Townsend, a valued client for whom we completed a project several years ago. Their space has now become a perfect example of phased works—an evolving design that adapts to changing business needs while remaining in partial occupation! Through careful planning and considered tweaks, we’ve helped refine their workspace, ensuring it continues to support their dynamic way of working.

Bird of the Week

We love this spring-time pic of this beautiful Baltimore Oriole. A gorgeous small blackbird common in eastern North America as a migratory breeding bird. The bright orange chested bird received its name from the resemblance of the male’s colours to those on the coat-of-arms of 17th-century Lord Baltimore!

You know we love a bold colour scheme here at Wylde, so we have to say we’re a fan of this little feathered friend. The bird in our brand and the birds we feature and share are symbolic of beauty, innovation, nature, and freedom – all qualities we apply to our work and lives. We love sharing ideas and allow clients to access the breadth of talent across our team.

Monday morning at the studio starts with coffee, a bit of weekend chat, and figuring out what needs tackling first. Desks are already covered in sketches, material samples, and notes from last week, and there’s the usual mix of emails to catch up on. A quick check-in sets the plan for the day, and before long, everyone’s back into the swing of things.

At Wylde, that means getting stuck into workspace design—finalising layouts, choosing finishes, and making sure everything works as well as it looks. Some of us are deep in CAD plans, others are refining mood boards or pulling together client presentations. There’s always something to problem-solve, whether it’s a tricky space layout or finding the perfect material that ticks all the boxes.

The mornings usually move quickly, with ideas bouncing around and plenty of back-and-forth on the details. At Dairy Studios there’s a good mix of focused work and the odd discussion over a desk about the best approach to a project. It’s a typical start to the week—busy but productive, with plenty of tea breaks along the way!

This week in the Wylde blog we’re talking minty fresh, menthol hues – mint is making waves in interior design, and it’s easy to see why. This fresh, uplifting shade sits somewhere between green and blue, bringing a sense of calm and clarity to any space. Have you noticed how many traditionally sterile or blank interior spaces are shifting towards warmth and comfort? We love to see it. Spaces with character, personality and warmth are in!

For years, sleek, minimalist interiors reigned supreme—think grey tones, stark white walls, and sharp, clean lines. But there’s been a noticeable shift towards spaces that feel softer, richer, and more inviting. Whether at home or in the workplace, people are craving warmth, texture, and personality in their surroundings. Interiors are becoming less about clinical perfection and more about comfort and well-being.

We’re seeing this reflected in the rise of deep, earthy colours, layered textures, and materials that add depth—like natural wood, warm metals, and plush fabrics. Even office spaces are moving away from rigid layouts and sterile aesthetics in favour of something more human. It’s all about creating environments where people want to spend time, whether that means a homely feel in a workspace or a cosier atmosphere in residential design.

Geometric patterns and shapes are making a strong comeback in interior architecture, bringing structure, rhythm, and a touch of playfulness to modern spaces. From striking wall paneling and tiled surfaces to sculptural furniture and lighting, this trend balances sharp lines with dynamic movement, adding depth and character to interiors. We embraced this trend in a few of our won projects – we love a custom geometric wall, angular furniture and patterned carpet tiles, artwork and much more! We always aim to create a space that feels both contemporary and timeless, and geometrics definitely amp it up! By carefully layering these elements, we achieved a striking yet harmonious design that captures the essence of structured elegance.

We’re injecting a little bit more sunshine for this bird of the week because, yes, we’ve made it – the clocks change this weekend! We’ve made it – there will be light! (Well, more of it anyway and we think that’s something worth celebrating!)

We picked this sunny snap of a yellow-rumped warbler perched on a tree branch to remind you that sunshine and warmer days are coming. Is there a chance of a second winter before that in the UK? Always!
