The air quality in Textile City is deteriorating. Air Quality Index (AQI) has once again raised concerns. Recently, the air quality was considered better than normal, but on November 19, the AQI suddenly reached the poor category. Since then, the pollution level remained high for several days, causing chaos in normal life. Due to the poor condition of the roads, dust particles constantly fly with the wind. This view is seen in Gangapur Tiraha and other parts of the city. Apart from this, dust clouds are formed in other areas with heavy construction and transport due to lack of proper sprinkling of water on the roads. This dust and smoke is more dissolved in the air in the morning and evening, causing people to experience eye irritation, coughing and difficulty breathing. Doctors at the Mahatma Gandhi Hospital say that due to increasing pollution, the risk of patients suffering from asthma and breathing problems has increased two to three times. The number of patients complaining of coughs, colds and difficulty breathing has also increased in the hospital. Doctors advise people not to go out in the morning in this season, wear masks and stay away from dusty places. Due to continuously increasing pollution, the air quality of Textile City is also affected. According to the Pollution Control Board, improvement in air quality is only possible by sprinkling water, controlling the dust coming from the construction site and stopping the movement of unnecessary vehicles. Impact on health: Increasing level of pollution is harmful to health. It especially affects the lungs. Both smoke and pollution damage the lungs, causing the airways to shrink permanently. Avoiding pollution, quitting smoking and doing pranayam can improve lung capacity. There has been a rapid increase in asthma patients due to pollution.
