Jakarta – The roof of a resident’s house in Kertamaya, South Bogor, Bogor City, collapsed due to fragile building construction and heavy rain. The kitchen and bedroom parts of the house were damaged. “The roof of the house collapsed in Kertamaya Village, South Bogor District. There were no victims either injured or dead,” said Bogor City BPBD Kalak Dimas Tiko, Friday (12/12/2015). SCROLL TO CONTINUE CONTENT Dimas said the house collapse reportedly occurred during heavy rain Thursday night (12/11). The state of the damage to the house was known from the results of the assessment and treatment carried out this afternoon around 15:00 WIB. “The cause of the incident was that the house’s roof was rotting and it was raining heavily. This incident caused the roof of Mr. Jajang’s house to collapse into the kitchen and bathroom,” Dimas said. Dimas said the state of the damage to the house has not been completely repaired and follow-up is needed by the relevant institutions. The collapsed roof was temporarily covered with a tarpaulin to prevent additional damage when heavy rains occurred. “The assessment and delivery of sailing aid has been completed. The residents are not evacuating because the house is still safe to live in,” said Dimas. (deck/deck)
