The governor of Aceh said the Chinese team was overwhelmed by finding flood victims because there was so much wood

Jakarta – Five volunteers from China have been deployed to the Aceh disaster site to detect the presence of bodies. Aceh Governor Muzakir Manaf of Mualem said their work was not optimal. “The results of their work were not optimal because the site was still flooded with wood. It was difficult for them to find the bodies,” Mualem said as reported by detikSumut, Thursday (11/12/2025). The five volunteers reportedly served in North Aceh for several days. They reportedly found several bodies in the area. Scroll TO CONTINUE CONTENT “Maybe tomorrow they will move to East Aceh or Aceh Tamiang to detect the presence of bodies,” he explained. Earlier, five volunteers from China arrived in Aceh to help locate flood and landslide disaster victims who are still buried. They are said to have tools to track bodies. “A team of five people from China came to locate bodies in the mud and they have tools to retrieve the bodies,” Mualem told reporters on Saturday (6/12).
