The South Sulawesi Regional Police help the community to build a bridge connecting 3 villages in Soppeng

Soppeng Regency – The South Sulawesi Police Mobile Brigade Unit helped build a bridge connecting three towns in the Soppeng Regency area. The bridge was built to help the mobility of people who had problems. “The construction site connects three villages, namely Watu Village, Mariritenggae Village, and Marioriaja Village in Marioriwawo District which are separated by a river,” South Sulawesi Regional Police Mobile Brigade Commander, Commissioner M. Ridwan, said in his statement on Monday (1/12/2025). He said that for years the local community had relied on tires and rafts as a means of crossing, including for school children. Residents also tried to raise funds independently, but limited technical capabilities became an obstacle so that development was never realized. The construction progress of the 20 meter long bridge has reached 15 percent and is being carried out in mutual cooperation with the local community. The construction of the bridge is a follow-up to President Prabowo Subianto’s order. The National Police ensures that this assignment becomes a real action that is directly in contact with the needs of the community. Ridwan hopes that the bridge will help the community to carry out their activities. This is also the National Police’s commitment to providing access to education for the younger generation in remote areas of the country. (wnv/wnv)
