According to the information released from the Meteorological Department, the maximum temperature was recorded at 25.3 degree Celsius on Friday, which was 0.1 degree less than normal. The minimum temperature was 9.0 degrees Celsius, 1.7 degrees below normal. Maximum humidity was recorded at 92 percent and minimum at 48 percent. Due to high humidity in the air and falling temperature, fog developed rapidly late Thursday night, becoming extremely dense by Friday morning. As a result, visibility reached zero due to which drivers had to face problems while driving in many places. Meteorologist TB Singh said due to stability at the lower level of the troposphere (lowest and densest layer of the atmosphere), fog is becoming extremely dense in the lowland areas.
