Melbourne, November 26 (IANS). In the Women’s Big Bash League match played on Wednesday, Melbourne Stars defeated Hobart Hurricanes by 37 runs. Chasing the target of 152 set by Melbourne Stars, Hobart Hurricanes were reduced to just 114 runs. Hobart Hurricanes won the toss and decided to bowl. Melbourne Stars scored 151 runs for 6 wickets in 20 overs with the help of wicketkeeper Amy Jones’ 59 runs in 40 balls with the help of 6 fours and 1 six and Danielle Gibson’s 39 runs in 27 balls with the help of 1 six and 5 fours. Nicola Carey took 2 wickets for Hobart. Linsey Smith, Hayley Silver Holmes, Nat Sevier Brunt and Lauren Smith each took 1 wicket. Chasing the target of 151 runs, Hobart got off to a very poor start. The team lost both its starters on the score of 13. The team was never able to recover from these two shocks.
