Ritik was arrested after a man named Chaman Khatana (45) filed a complaint at Sector-56 police station under sections 299 (deliberate and malicious acts intended to outrage religious feelings) and 325 (mischief by killing or maiming an animal) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS’), according to the Guru HT Relations Office (BNS’) public office. “Many people in the comments urged him to delete the video as it hurt their religious sentiments. His neighbors also told him, but he did not listen. We then informed the police,” Khatana claimed. What did Ritik tell during interrogation? He allegedly hosted a live momo-eating contest, during which a viewer suggested that he feed non-vegetarian momos to a cow in the background and Ritik complied and later uploaded the video on social media. The complainant reportedly submitted the video, and an investigation was underway. According to investigators, Ritik told the police in his statement that he had received ₹3,000 from an unnamed individual to make the video, a claim authorities said they were verifying, the report said. Police arrest 5 others According to police, based on a complaint by Ritik’s father, a second FIR was registered at New Colony Police Station, which led to the arrests of five accused involved in the assault: Khatana, Rohit (29), Lalit (25), Teshav (22), and Ayushman (20). Ritik was allegedly beaten up on December 8 and paraded at his residence. Who is Ritik Chandna? Ritik is reportedly called “Doperman” on social media. According to HT, the police said that Ritik’s father runs a shoe shop on Railway Road, while his mother works as a doctor at a private hospital in Old Gurugram. Officials added that Chandna pursued English honors at Delhi University from 2018 to 2021 and was active on YouTube and other online platforms.
