Red eyes in children are the usual cause of one or both eyes that turn in scarlet or red is conjunctivitis. Conjunctivitis, also known as “red eye”, is inflammation (redness and swelling) conjunctiva, is the tissue that covers the whites of the eye within the eyelid. The most common cause is a microbial infection (bacteria or viruses) that is transferred from one person to another. Nevertheless, conjunctivitis can also be due to an allergic reaction to something (such as pollen), due to contact with something irritated (such as smoking in the air or chlorine in the pool) or because of the eye problems rarely.
