Sarnoski recently wrapped on The Death of Robin Hood, Starring Hugh Jackman, Jodie Comer, Bill Skarsgård, Murray Bartlett, and Noah Jupe. A first look at the production has been revealed, showcasing the Deadpool and Wolverine Star in the titular role. As the name suggests, Sarnoski delves into a target version of the classic tale, one that jokes with the complex past life of its protagonist. It’s not a coincidence that Robin hood Shares “death” in the title with his upcoming video game adaptation, too. Now set to direct the first beach-type film, Death Stranding will be another in-depth look at humanity and death in Sanoski’s filmography, one that mixes a variety of genres in a post-apocalyptic adventure that will take audiences across a disconnected America.

What is Death Stranding about? Well, a lot of fans of the video game franchise are still debating that to this day. But, to keep it short, hideo kojima’s genre-defying title followed a future united states that, after a cataclysmic event, became overrun with creatures from another world called “BEeached Things.” As Sam Porter Bridges (Norman Reedus), players were tasked with delivering packages across America, connecting the isolated parts of a Broken Nation. In addition to reedus, Death Stranding featured a host of major actors and filmmakers, including Léa Seydoux, Nicolas Winding Refn, Guillermo del Toro, and Troy Baker.
Kojima, a big movie fan himself, is closely overseeing the video game adaptation through kojima productions. What remains unclear is if the movie will directly cover the game’s story, or focus on other narratives set within the same post-apocalyptic world. If it’s the former, one wonders if the original cast would return for a live-action remake. It would be difficult seeing other actors take on the roles, especially since the original game is already incredibly cinematic. The Upcoming Game Sequel, Death Stranding 2: On the BeachWill feature several new faces, including Luca Marinelli, George Miller, and Elle Fanning. Yes, Kojima Loves Putting Major Directors in His Games, and Miller is the latest to join his esteemed supporting cast.
Will Michael Sarnoski Write a Brand-New Story? It’s too early to tell, but it would not be shocking if the acclaimed director puts his own spin on the Death Stranding franchise.
