Bihar Chunav 2025: If Karishma Lalu’s ‘MY’ couldn’t do, will entire Bihar be rocked by Tejashwi Yadav’s ‘YB’?

Last Updated: 21 October 2025, 15:11 IST Tejashwi Yadav New Formula in Bihar Chunav 2025: Tejashwi Yadav formed YB alliance in Bihar Elections 2025 by adding Bhumihars with MY comparison of RJD, which never happened during Lalu Yad. Know how effective this formula of Tejashwi will be in Bihar elections. Will Tejashwi’s maths outweigh Lalu’s in Bihar elections? Tejashwi Yadav new Formula in Bihar Chunav 2025: Will Tejashwi Yadav do the magic in Bihar Assembly elections 2025, which his father Lalu Yadav has not yet done? Will Tejashwi Yadav play a big game by upsetting the equation of caste mathematics in Bihar? What is that move of Tejashwi Yadav, which is being copied not only by NDA but also by leaders of PK and other parties? Under Lalu Yadav’s rule, is the ‘cleanse brown hair’ slogan going to be a boon for Tejashwi Yadav this time? Will the alliance of Bhumihar and Yadav castes ie ‘YB’ outweigh Lalu’s ‘MY’ ie Muslim-Yadav alliance in this Bihar election? This time Tejashwi Yadav has done what has never happened in the history of Rashtriya Janata Dal. This time in Bihar elections, RJD has made a big bet on the Bhumihar caste. After the Yadav caste, the maximum number of candidates were given tickets to the Bhumihar caste. Will Yadav-Bhumihar play a big role in this Bihar election? RJD’s CM face Tejashwi Yadav is working on the MY (Muslim-Yadav) equation as well as the strategy to woo the upper castes in this election. Tejashwi Yadav seems to be drawing such a political streak in 2025 Bihar elections, which even his father and party supremo Lalu Yadav could not draw in his political career. This is an extension line of caste equation. RJD’s traditional ‘MY’ (MY- Muslim + Yadav) equation has been its strength but this time the move made by Tejashwi to include the Bhumihars i.e. upper caste community in ticket distribution could create a new history in Bihar politics. Tejashwi included this Bhumihar leader from Bihar in the party. Will Tejashwi Yadav outweigh Lalu? What Lalu Yadav could not do, will Tejashwi do? During the Lalu Yadav era, RJD’s politics mainly focused on social justice, where the upper castes were sidelined politically. Slogans like ‘clean brown hair’ have also become a symbol of opposition to the upper castes, thereby limiting RJD’s core voters to Muslims and Yadavs. In sharp contrast, Tejashwi Yadav projected his image as a ‘job creator’ and ‘everyone’s leader’. He only talked about development and employment, but behind the scenes he played a big game that no one expected. Not ME, now Tejashwi Jung from YB will win. The manner in which RJD has included Bhumihar candidates in its candidate lists is unprecedented in the history of the party. RJD has given tickets to at least 6 Bhumihar candidates in this election. This number is significant compared to last time and is a major change in the representation given to the upper castes in the history of RJD. At the same time BJP gave tickets to 16 Bhumihars in its first list but this move of RJD is shocking as it was considered as the traditional opposition party of Bhumihars. Will Tejashwi’s sun shine after Surajbhan Singh comes to RJD? How will Tejashwi’s move work? This bet is of double benefit. On the one hand, it is an attempt to create a ‘Yadav-Bhumihar’ (YB) equation, so that RJD can expand its caste base beyond 30%. On the other hand, it will break into the core upper caste vote bank of BJP-JDU. Tejashwi wants to show that RJD is no longer a party of just one caste, but is a party that takes all sections together. Tejashwi Yadav’s focus on employment and youth in his election strategy was so deep that all the NDA parties (BJP, JDU, LJP, HAM) also had to follow the same path. In the 2020 Bihar elections, RJD got about 36 percent vote share. According to the caste census of Bihar, currently Bhumihars in Bihar are 2.86% and Brahmins 3.65%. The vote share of both the castes together is around 6.5%, which is influential in the Ganga belt Bhojpur, Rohtas, Bhagalpur, Khagaria, Munger, Lakhisarai, Begusarai, Samastipur, Madhubani and Darbhanga areas. RJD’s vote bank in these areas has remained almost the same for the past several elections. Even though RJD could not win many seats here, the margin of defeat remains so small that it can be overcome. Bhumihars have significant influence in Makama, Barh, some parts of Begusarai and Magadha region. If Bhumihar voters in these areas swing even partially in favor of Tejashwi’s candidates, it will be an unprecedented victory for RJD, which was not possible during Lalu Yadav’s rule.
