Jakarta – Death certificates and stillbirth certificates are documents related to a person’s death. Even though they look similar, they both have differences in terms of issuance and benefits. The legal basis is Article 44 of Act No. 23 of 2006 on Population Administration. The death certificate is issued by the sub-district. The following are the requirements for issuing a death certificate: Photocopy of the death certificate Photocopy of the family card/e-KTP of the deceased Photocopy of travel documents for foreigners Photocopy of Republic of Indonesia travel documents for non-resident Indonesian citizens Death certificates have several benefits, such as: Legal proof of a person’s death in state administration. Stillbirth certificate A stillbirth certificate is issued to a baby born from a womb that is at least 28 weeks old and shows no signs of life at birth. The legal basis is Article 33 of Act No. 23 of 2006 on Population Administration. A stillbirth certificate document is also issued by the sub-district. This is a requirement for issuing a stillbirth certificate. Certificate of stillbirth; or Declaration of biological parents or guardians for those who do not have a stillbirth certificate.
