This investigation pertains to allegations of ration distribution scam, attack on ED officials and land grabbing. The investigating officers are gathering information about Shahjahan’s financial transactions and money exchange. There are very serious allegations against Shahjahan and his associates that are being investigated. CBI investigation continues in Sandeshkhali State Bureau, Jagran, Kolkata. A CBI team has extensively questioned people close to former TMC leader Sheikh Shahjahan at the customer service center of a government bank in Sandeshkhali in North 24 Parganas district of Bengal. The action was part of the probe against Shahjahan into allegations of ration allocation scam, attack on ED officials and land grabbing. On Thursday, a four-member CBI team also questioned bank employees and sought information related to Shahjahan’s financial transactions. According to sources, the investigating officers are trying to find out through which accounts of Shahjahan the transactions were done and between which people the money was exchanged. Let us tell you that Shahjahan’s close associates are accused of attacking ED officials. Probing the financial dealings of the TMC leader On January 5, 2024, when the ED team went to Sandeshkhali to investigate the ration allocation scam, Shahjahan’s supporters attacked officials of the central agencies. On the order of the court, the responsibility of investigating the attack was transferred to CBI. Shahjahan is accused of being involved in the ration allocation scam. Apart from this, there are also allegations against the former TMC leader and his associates that they forcibly occupied people’s land and sexually exploited women in Sandeshkhali.
