Gujarat: Ahmedabad -Police Action Plan prepared for Navratri, the emphasis on peace and safety

Ahmedabad, September 21 (IANS). Ahmedabad police have drawn up a comprehensive action plan to execute Navratri festival with peace and security. City Control DCP Reema Munshi said at a press conference that police have been preparing for the past two months. 49 Special power teams were deployed to ensure the safety of Garba meetings during Navratri in the city. So far, 84 applications have been received from Garba organizers, of which 29 have been approved, while the process continues. The police have paid particular attention to training for self -defense and precedes the safety of women and women. In the 28 Garba classes of the city, 3,000 women were trained in self -defense. In addition, 4,800 girls students in 39 schools and colleges also offered this training. DCP Munshi said this step was taken to empower women and ensure their safety. During Navratri, police further improved the patrol to maintain law and order in the city. Regular patrolling is done in SG Highway, Indus Bhawan Road, Riverfront and other sensitive areas. Strict steps are taken against fighters on the roads. Police will also watch a closely on the dark film and vehicles with no license plate. So far, 3,601 dark film trains have been performed, while vehicles have been detained with 7,300 modified license plates. Police have made extensive arrangements to strengthen the security system. DCP Munshi said 15 deputy commissioners, 30 assistant commissioners, 160 police inspectors, 5000 policemen, 4,000 home guards and three enterprises from the Railway Protection Force (RPF) will be deployed. In addition, small and large businesses will also provide security and support. Police are fully prepared to prevent any unforeseen incident during Navratri. Senior officials will be present on the spot to keep the traffic and parking system smooth. The organizers were also instructed to follow the safety rules.
