Henry Winkler knows how to make a good first impression.
During an appearance on the What In The Winkler?! podcast, hosted by the actor’s wife Stacey Weitzman and daughter Zoe Winkler, Henry’s daughter-in-law Jessica Barden — who is married to his son Max — recalled her introduction to the Happy Days star.
“What was it like meeting Fonzie and marrying into this family?” Zoe, 45, asked, referring to the actor’s beloved character on Happy Days.
“So Henry knows this, I had never seen Happy Days,” Barden, 32, admitted. “I’d never seen it.”

“I was born in 1992 in England, I hadn’t seen it,” she added. “What I did know Henry from was the Water Boy and Click like every other millennial on the planet.”
The British actress recalled one of her first interactions with Henry.
“By the way, like, one of the first times that I met Henry or anybody meets Henry, he does the magic trick from Click,” she said, referring to his role in the 2006 film that also starred Adam Sandler, Kate Beckinsale, Christopher Walken and David Hasselhoff.
“He carries around the coin,” she teased of Henry, whose character used a coin to perform magic tricks in the film.
Henry’s love for magic is no secret. He previously showed off his magic skills during an appearance on The Kelly Clarkson Show in April 2022.
“I have a Masters in Magicology…I do magic. It’s in my fingers,” the actor told host Kelly Clarkson before admitting that he only does “one trick.”

He then showed Clarkson and guests Kaley Cuoco and Zosia Mamet a quarter and performed the trick to the amazement of the crowd.
However, there were no magic tricks involved on Henry’s first date with his wife Weitzman. Henry recalled in a September 2023 AARP Magazine interview their first outing together after meeting Jerry Magnin’s clothing story in Beverly Hills in 1976.

“She wanted to go to the movies,” Winkler explained. “And I told her that might be difficult. She wanted to know why. I said, ‘I don’t know how to describe it to you.’”
“When we got to the theater, I told her we should sit in the back,” he continued. “She didn’t understand, so we sat in the middle of the theater. And the entire theater came over and said hello. And Stacey said, ‘Oh!’”
Winkler and Weitzman went on to tie the knot in 1978 in a synagogue in New York, and in the years since, have raised three children together: Zoe, Max and Jed, who Weitzman shares with ex Howard Weitzman.
