Veteran actor Kamal Hassan made his first public appearance in Tamil Nadu days after the Karnataka High Court scratched him for his controversial statement. The actor was very upset in Karnataka after saying that “Kannada was born of Tamil” during the sound release of the Thug Life. Kamal Hassan thanks Tamil Nadu, refusing to comment on controversy on Wednesday, Kamal Haasan went on stage with his co-stars of Thug life, including Silambarasan. However, he did not comment on the ongoing drive related to his statement. He thanks the people of Tamil Nadu for understanding him and his words, who caught everyone’s attention. According to a translation by Pti, Kamal said: “I thank Tamil Nadu for understanding what I say from the stage.” He also talked about the hard work and international quality behind Mani Ratnam’s film Thug Life. “I have to thank the whole state of Tamil Nadu who stands behind me,” Kamal added. Thug Life will be released in India on June 5, except for Karnataka.
