Iran will never be allowed to purchase nuclear weapons: Israeli Premier

Jerusalem, April 18 (IANS). Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu reiterated that Israel will not allow Iran to get nuclear weapons. His statement came to light amid reports about a new discussion on the new nuclear deal between Tehran and the US administration. Netanyahu’s office said in a statement on Thursday: “The prime minister has clarified more than once: Israel will not allow Iran to get nuclear weapons.” The office said Netanyahu ‘had countless direct and secret campaigns against Iran’s nuclear program’ and ‘led the global campaign against Iran’s nuclear program’. Iranian Foreign Minister Saeed Abbas Araghchi met last Saturday about the issue of Tehran’s nuclear program in Oman’s capital Muscat on the release of Tehran’s nuclear program. Both sides described this meeting as ‘creative’. US President Donald Trump said in early March that a letter from the Iranian leaders was received by the United Arab Emirates talking about the nuclear program of Tehran. Iran later agreed to indirect discussions. Israel and Western governments have long been accusing Iran of the acquisition of nuclear weapons capacity. However, Tehran denied this charge. Netanyahu’s statement came to Rome on Saturday before the second round of talks between the US and the Iranian delegations in Rome. Trump’s attempts to compromise on Iran’s nuclear program appear to be contrary to the long -standing policy of handling Netanyahu’s military action. -Ians mk/ share this story tags
