It is very important to combat cruelty to animals: Poonam Mahajan

Mumbai, September 21 (IANS). The workshop was arranged by ‘Peta India’ in Mumbai to fight crimes against animals. Former MP Poonam Mahajan also attended the main gas. He said it is very important for everyone to combat cruelty to animals to ensure a safe society. Peepal for the ethical treatment of animals India (Peta India) arranged its first educational and capacity building workshop in Mumbai on Sunday to help with the growing crimes against animals in Mumbai and animals and humans. The workshop included the general public, including rescue workers and other animal protection workers from all over Mumbai. Poonam Mahajan was a long guide for many animal welfare organizations of the country. During the interaction with the media, the former MP said that people who harm animals are often not limited to animals. I am glad that I have become part of the Peta India workshop, which aims to empower citizens to prevent the social evil of crimes against animals. More than 150 participants participated in the one -day session that met by Peta India’s legal advisor and director of cruelty reaction Ashur and learned how the first Information Report (FIR) and the Provisional Crime Report (POR) were submitted and how the crime was documented against animals. He also learned of the Animal Cruelty Prevention Act (PCA) 1960, Wildlife (Protection) 1972 (amended in 2022), Indian Justice Code (BNS) 2023 and other relevant laws. Peta India’s meeting Ashra said: “From animals and society we thank the participants in the workshop for their dedication to ending the cruelty to animals and creating a compassionate society and also thanking Poonam Mahajan for becoming the guide in this movement.” Peta India says that many violent criminals have a history of cruelty with animals. A study published in Forensic Research and Criminology International Journal warns: “Those who do cruelty to animals are more likely to commit other crimes such as murder, rape, robbery, attack, harassment, threats and drug abuse.” -Ians Ash/BC shares this story tags
