Maulana Shahabuddin Rajvi Barelvi, national president of the Muslim James of All India, gave an important and positive message and called on celebrating international yoga day in Madrasas. He said yoga is not related to any religion or sect, but it is a medium of health and spiritual peace that all people must accept. Maulana Shahabuddin said in clear terms: “Yoga is good for everyone’s health. You do not need to go to the park or yoga center to do yoga, you will rise in your home every morning and offer prayers or do yoga.” He said that yoga is a scientific method that is beneficial from physical as well as mental point of view. He called on Muslims across the country to see and participate in Yoga Day above the religious prejudice. He also urged Madrasas’s managers and teachers to inform the children about the importance of yoga in their institutions and to celebrate the International Yoga Day on June 21. The statement of Maulana Rajvi came at a time when many types of misconceptions in society spread over yoga. He made it clear that yoga is not associated with a specific religion, but it is an ancient cultural heritage of India and it is also recognized by the United Nations today. Maulana also said that if we balance both yoga and Namaz in our lives, it will not only keep our body healthy, but will also help with our spiritual progress. He specifically requested the youth to take time from mobile and social media and focus on their health. His positive and inclusive attitude on Yoga Day is appreciated on a social and religious level. Many intellectuals and academics said that this kind of initiative would strengthen religious harmony and strengthen the spirit of unity and harmony in society. Share this story -tags
